were donated by

Leona Nothwehr's grandchildren

to honor her on the occasion

of her 100th birthday.

They are available to researchers

during Museum hours.

The Friendly Farmers Wives Club created this lovely

76" x 76.5" signature quilt. 

 

 

 

Ribbons listing those Clarinda soldiers of the 51st Iowa who enlisted during the Spanish American War in 1898 are stitched into this Crazy Quilt segment. 

 

 

 

Four generations of a local family participated in the planning, piecing, embroidery and quilting of this fundraising   4-H quilt for the 150th annual celebration of the Page County Fair.  At auction the quilt was sold and resold until the sales totaled $1,675.  The final buyer donated the quilt to our Museum. 

 

 

 

 

 

This baby quilt was lovingly made for Marilyn Tomlinson when she was born in 1926.  The fine condition of the fabrics and charming embroidered animals indicates it was probably not used on an everyday basis.
